Where have all the talents gone?

It's been a week since we started our outsourcing business and things have been growing fast and extremely tense at the office. Beating deadlines after deadlines, we are pushing the limits of what is possible in our industry.

Now I believe our team is ready to meet the challenges in the global outsourcing market with the competency that beats any industry player in our class level.

Thought the Philippines is continuing to get noticed in the outsourcing world, the demand for talented and skilled I.T. practitioners are becoming scars. This means increase in the salary requirements of highly skilled workforce.

So how do we compete with countries like India and China where labor cost is extremely low and government support is very strong? Is the price war the only game to play? How do we survive in this challenging outsourcing world?

The Philippine Outsourcing market is gaining momentum and we as providers for the outsourcing industry should not only be at the cutting edge of our chosen field but also be competitive in marketing. We need to build strong relationships with our clients and partners that need to outsource jobs and projects in the Philippines.

These are the challenges we face everyday where finding skilled and talented I.T. human resources is becoming more challenging that it’s led to believe.

Observing the Holy Week for Outsourcing companies in the Philippines

Being the only Catholic-majority country in Asia, the Philippines celebrates this occasion religiously.

For outsourcing companies, this might not be a good thing. Most of the companies are in a tight schedule and deadlines keep pouring in backlog after backlog.

I know of most call center personnel still go to work during these solemn days. Does outsourcing companies respect local religion and traditions? I'm glad I'm part of a company that outsource and at the same time respect religion. This gives me an excuse to go to the beach. Be with my family. and just reflect on the things that matters most.

Though I'm not a religious person, I still look forward to this event because of the places we usually go to and have fun.

I guest the outsourcing world can actually stop for a while and take time to reflect.

To All Outsourcing Newbies

I attended a seminar on outsourcing yesterday organized by Philippine Global Outsourcing at Fwendz Diner (the place where I.T. professionals hang out in Davao City).

FREE Training Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop CS3

I learn several things about the outsourcing industry and the skills needed to be on top of the industry. The speakers of the seminar was composed of Davao's top I.T. professionals.

These are the speakers and what they talked about:
Ted Padova - Adobe Illustrator and Flash
Marlo Noval - Adobe Photoshop
Christopher John Cubos - Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver

The event was a total success and was overwhelmed with attendees which exceeded the capacity of our restaurant. We hope to have these kinds of events continue in Davao City and learn more opportunities in the outsourcing industry.
